Here's the awesome thing, empathy isn't a finite resource. And it's not absolute, you can be empathetic to Kirk's wife and kids. No matter what he said he never physically hurt anyone. You can disagree with him while still recognizing no one deserves to be killed like that.

I feel like this is the only place I can say this but fuck, I hate that I'm American. I feel like the world hates not just the government but the people too, including me. I'm only 17 and I already feel like my life is ruined. Even if I leave the US I'd leave everything behind. I can't stand home.
