I once spent like- 75 dollars for a secondhand Funko Shadow Freddy plush on Ebay. My thought process was, "Ooh, Shadow Freddy's rare!"

Well, I mean... I definitely have a Shadow Freddy plush now.

Anyway, sorry to bother you with this, just needed someone to vent to.

Yep, there's nothing wrong with liking something that others may think you're "too old" for. A lot of my interests are like that. And again, with FNAF it'd be better to point out the unethical people Scott has supported rather than just say "Oh, it's for babies!"
August 18, 2025 at 10:56 PM
-should be criticized for licking Scott's bootheel, which they do, but I feel like that's going a bit too far. I guess I'm too sensitive, but it just got to me that a game journalist said that. I don't know, I don't want to trouble you. I just wanna enjoy this stupid series and not be a bad person.
August 18, 2025 at 10:16 PM
Hey, I hope I'm not bothering you, I'm sorry to come back to this, it's just that during this whole FNAF drama, I saw someone, a game journalist, post that any adult who had even a "passing interest" in that franchise should be considered a "nonce". And that just kinda got to me, like, the fandom-
August 18, 2025 at 10:14 PM
Yep, am definitely going to get myself some Withered plushies and be able to sleep at night knowing I didn't give any money to Scott or Jazwares.
August 18, 2025 at 6:33 PM
Oh that is peak, I need that!

Honestly, giving Jazwares money because you want a jumbo Freddy plush is a pretty shitty reason.

Call me uncultured but I never saw that show as a kid. Was largely raised on SpongeBob, haha!
Although I do know who John K. is, fuck him.
August 18, 2025 at 1:10 AM
Yeah, it actually is pretty funny. I rarely interact with the fandom at large now, since there's... discourse like that.
August 15, 2025 at 4:30 PM
You too, thank you!
August 15, 2025 at 4:13 PM
I actually believed him when he said he'd retire. And nowadays we're at a point where a lot of the fandom hates Steel Wool Studios (who currently develops the mainline games) for "ruining the lore", even though he's still writing it all. Nothing ever changed, it seems.
August 15, 2025 at 4:13 PM
-completely understandable. Even I find it harder to enjoy this franchise after having learned about all that 4 years ago. But I'm glad we could have a good conversation!
August 15, 2025 at 4:10 PM
I completely agree, there's no point in getting riled up over a fucking video game. You can like something and not have it be your whole fucking life. But yeah, completely understandable to be outraged, even feel betrayed, at what this guy had done. Disliking FNAF for what its creator did is-
August 15, 2025 at 4:09 PM
I was into it before everyone knew who this guy supported and it's hard to just... stop liking it. I just hope there will come a day when the franchise can no longer be associated with its creator, although that will probably never happen. But yeah, just hope you're cool with that, have a nice day!
August 15, 2025 at 2:35 PM
I just want to say, I don't support this guy (piracy is always an option) and there are ways to enjoy my interest without giving him money, like playing free fan recreations and such that I might find more fun than the actual game.
I just don't want to be thought less of for liking this stupid game.

I don't like pulling the autism card all the time, but I think being on the spectrum is a big reason I found FNAF appealing, I don't even entirely know why I did. Sometimes it's hard for me to not take digs on things I like personally, even if I know better. So I don't want this to be an argument.
August 15, 2025 at 2:30 PM
Look, I like FNAF, and I'm not here to argue or anything, I just want to calmly say that even if I like it, I do think Scott should be criticized. That whole donation debacle really soured my opinion on him, and he said he was going to retire after that, but he never really did. (Thread incoming).
August 15, 2025 at 2:28 PM
I just wanna say, this show made my autistic self very happy, so since you worked on it, I just wanna say thank you for being a part of that. The "us weirdos have to stick together" is one line I found especially heartwarming.

Also Belos was a really cool villain, love to hate him.

Fun fact: She was used as a stand-in for the derelict, raised wreck of R.M.S. Titanic in the 1980 film "Raise the Titanic". She was called the Athinai then and had been laid up for a very long time, meaning she played the role of a derelict Titanic pretty well.

Thank you! I got to see her from a boat called "Perdido Queen", little motor vessel meant to emulate an old-fashioned steam riverboat. She does harbor cruises and has given people a chance to see the Big U up close. It was an amazing experience and I felt honored to have been in the ship's presence.

@thegreatjaxie.bsky.social I think you'll like this!

Bit of an odd question but I remember seeing some years back some art of the narrow gauge engines from Season 4 done by someone who was a storyboard artist on TOH. Was that yours? I've been trying to look for it to show some friends in the TOH fandom, obviously I'd credit you as the artist.

I did read another book of his called "Imperial Earth", as it also involved the Titanic (albeit in more of a cameo appearance).
In this book, Titanic has been raised as of the year 2276, and as the book itself was written in 1976, Titanic is in one piece, though we now know she broke in two.

If I'm correct it was the LSWR that rebuilt the Southampton dockside into what it is now. The White Star Line needed a larger berth for its massive new liner Olympic and her famously ill-fated sister Titanic. And since then the port has played host to many of the great transatlantic liners.
