It's why certain entities exist. The UL listing on certain electronics show that the product was independently tested and matches company claims. We don't have that with a lot of industries and we definitely don't have that with AI. Which we definitely need to get ahead of as a society

As more and more fields succumb to AI, expertise in certain fields is going to fall drastically. And with no oversight committee to hold these companies accountable, what's going to stop them from exploiting the general populace?

There's no oversight (yes there are small victories like Uber in LA and NYC. But there are not grand worker protections or unions.
Now add in the exponential rise in AI and whelp there goes IMO more than half the middle class labor force.

So they're not entitled to paid leave, pto, FMLA, maternity, sick time, health insurance. So of course companies love this business model because it reduces the overhead on these companies payroll.
