If you install malware it will continue when you turn the internet back. Also it can delete or encrypt your data without the internet at all. So turning it off is no defence. You should only install from trusted sources. It's not paranoia, it's basic security practice and industry standard advice.

Except trash panda is the nickname for a raccoon, not an actual panda

which is worse, sending an individual doc to random servers or giving a random app access to all your documents. At the end of the day you have to trust the converter however it is implemented.

Chuckle amongst yourselves but it doesn't change the fact that copyright is there to encourage creation and prevent direct copies,, not for you to abuse by trying to shut down anything vaguely similar to give yourself a monopoly.

Except you arn't the artist of that work, you are the person resenting the artist and trying to take away their ownership
August 19, 2025 at 5:16 PM
If you paid attention the original artist isn't letting anyone buy it
August 19, 2025 at 5:10 PM
Right but the law does not give you ownership over anything vaguely similar to what you made
August 19, 2025 at 12:07 PM
Making a lion mask does not entitle you to stop anyone else from making a lion mask though. Its only similar, its not her work. You don't get to declare yourself the artistic owner of a wild creature or masks which are already heavily inspired from samurai mengu

No one stole anything, they made their own version.
August 19, 2025 at 12:41 AM
throwing insults doesn't change the facts
August 19, 2025 at 12:36 AM
Personally I would have more sympathy for the artist if they were offering it and not merely trying to block anyone from having it.
August 19, 2025 at 12:34 AM
So you might like to think it is well protected and they can dictate exactly how it can be used or influence new creations, but that simply isn't what the law says.
August 19, 2025 at 12:33 AM
In the case of 3D work, design files would be copyright protected but there are none. The actual object itself is only protected in its exact form, not the style or utility. Theres no unique character like with mickey mouse, its not substantially distinct from other lion masks. There is no trademark
August 19, 2025 at 12:31 AM
Firstly no IP infringement is theft cos that is the act of taking something away from someone. Secondly IP law is not there to give anyone absolute control over information, merely a period of time to make something off ideas to encourage creation. Thirdly 3D objects are not protected like a book.
August 19, 2025 at 12:26 AM
3D objects are not protected by copyright in that way. Design rights last for only a few years, no protection in the US if unregistered. The reason you should talk to them is because they are free to copy but may be courteous if you ask them.
August 19, 2025 at 12:02 AM
So you can't see the frustration of you blocking them offering something which you are not even doing yourself?

Also this means that there are no files to copyright and design rights have expired since you made it. So it is free to copy now technically.

Personally I would negotiate a % with them.
August 17, 2025 at 11:49 AM
Where can we buy this 3D file from you instead of them?
August 16, 2025 at 11:37 AM
You know that Ice Cube does War of the Worlds is going to be bad as well
August 4, 2025 at 9:59 PM
tbf it is probably not as unwatchable as Tin Soldier. We have some real dross to choose from right now
August 4, 2025 at 9:59 PM
Same but if you google their hits I recognise maybe 80%, they've been the background to movies and tv all along.
July 27, 2025 at 10:02 AM
It is a pitfall to see it that way. It may be 'a trick' but if AI can't provide the goal repeatedly and in bulk, it doesn't actually matter if it was a trick or not.
July 21, 2025 at 9:54 AM
But make it a branching video where one option shows it and the 2nd option shows the same video with tiny insignificant differences
June 26, 2025 at 3:05 PM
The interview is a 2-way process. If you respond suggesting some more reasonable terms and they don't cooperate they have successfully ruled themselves out and saved you time.
