We've spent the last few years making our garden nature friendly
Anyone know what uk herb/plant this could be? It's absolutely covered in bees so, naturally, I want to get one for my garden.

First time we've had an Eryngium in the Garden and it's been a success with all things flying, so it will be a regular from now on.
Apologies for the pic quality, everything moves so fast ! (Shaky hands)
Also seen a Hornet and Hummingbird Hawk moth give it the once over 😄.

Success, we have many Froglets 😍.

Looks like one of last year's froglets survived the winter 😊

Whatever it is,it looks like it's going to pupate.

It would be nice to know that the hedgehogs I saw last night are using either this woody pile next to the compost heap or the hog house I made to raise a family in our garden 😊

Sniffling and grunting noises startled me late last night while I was in the garden.
Two Hedgehogs have flattened this area of young garlic mustard, presumably courting, rutting or mating.

A special visitor on our neighbours roof, checking out the local garden ponds.

Having a 5 min break from mending the roof of the Garden Bus stop.
Taking in the view and watching Blue, Great and Coal Tits, Goldfinches and Robins using the feeders and birdbath.

Back in 2019 we had an amazing visitor to our small, City, courtyard garden during early July.
You could literally hear it heading our way from quite a distance.
I've only ever seen a Violet Carpenter Bee once before many years ago in Wiltshire.

The Nettle patch is so busy right now.
My basic knowledge continues but the discovery in this one area makes me really happy 😊
April 22, 2025 at 2:12 PM
Despite waiting patiently for a Queen Wasp to return after watching previously without my phone, it was a no show but you can clearly see the very neat and much lighter patch that has been nibbled off for nest building.
This wood is from a Tree that fell a couple of years ago that has been reused.

Last piccy from the Nettle patch 😊
April 22, 2025 at 1:08 PM
As I'm interested, not knowledgeable about our critters, I'm happy to be corrected.
This is exactly why we have a healthy Nettle patch 😁

This Field/Wood Mouse came into our Catio and despite no blood or visible external injuries, probably died of shock 😥.
We often see Mice underneath the Bird feeders at dusk.

Our unruly Ivy hedge, hasn't been trimmed for 4 Years ! (Apologies to the neat and tidy brigade )
April 12, 2025 at 6:00 PM
Untidy continues 😂
April 12, 2025 at 9:43 AM
What an untidy Garden and we won't change a thing ! 😎
April 12, 2025 at 9:34 AM
OMG we have one of those "untidy" Gardens, won't win any Chelsea awards but all our little critters love it 😁
April 12, 2025 at 9:28 AM
The trend continues.
April 10, 2025 at 8:44 AM
Yellow is trending in our Garden. 😆

Good morning, I was wondering if there is a record of the Wildlife seen at Sweetbriar Marshes.
We have our own observations from visits and snippets from the web and socials.
Our Daughters doing a project 😁

A few of the visitors from the end of last Year.
March 13, 2025 at 3:15 PM
