Some highlights✨
1️⃣ We found that, overall, parental support increases the growth mindset predictions on achievement/persistence
2️⃣ This is true in some countries, but not in others (variations are beyond east vs west comparison)
3️⃣ Post-hoc analyses showed collectivism has a role to play in variations

In this conceptual + psychometric paper, we synthesized the literature to map the behavioral mechanisms that enables a growth mindset to influence achievement, then developed a scale to measure such behaviors.

Highlights:
1️⃣ Students' L2 learning achievement is influenced by their classmates' achievement levels
2️⃣ This effect is stronger for students with higher intrinsic motivation
3️⃣ And those with higher behavioral and emotional engagement
