Yeah, same phone here. I had an old USB A cable and plugged it in an old computer that had USB 2.0.
But before plugging it I've downloaded Apple Devices and now the windows driver doesn't replace the Apple one

They'll be happy to take government money to make the factories in the US. But nothing is free, so I wonder what backdoor they would be forced to implement. (Like in China)

If you phone is using USB 2.0 you need to plug it into USB 2.0 port. For some stupid reason this is the only way I managed to backup mine.
And it took me so long I ended up paying for icloud and backed it there.

That would've mean something if China cared. They will now gladly overflow the global market with products that are going to be e-waste the moment they leave the factory.
