it also occurred to me when watching the HTTYD one and hearing kids cry in the theater bc they actually thought Hiccup died. like thats what made me realize "oh shit, kids are growing up with THESE versions of movies and their parents arent showing them the classics and thats concerning"

No idea other than that Disney is obviously trying to rebrand as a live-action movie company like Marvel but given the very whitewash-y themes of the L&S LA it also feels like trying to un-progress their brand

I do think they're setting up future conflict bc Blitzø has the opposite problem of Stolas in that hes *too* possessive of Loona even tho she's an adult. And could b why he was so crabby this whole ep was bc the man gave her what she wanted from Blitzø which was just patience + understanding

The alternative to this would be like "i hope you get turned into an AMAB creator who made a book or movie making fun of toxic parts of society and those toxic parts of society misunderstood your point entirely and appropriated it into being part of their toxic culture"

the other part is also like people not getting vivzie adds the swearing and sex jokes bc SHE thinks it's funny. call me a vivzie bootlicker but hellaverse quite literally is just her adding whatever she wants bc she likes it and anyone else liking it is just a nice bonus and I respect that so much

like there's a very specific level of irony in mocking a queer left-leaning female creator for not wanting to mock her minority characters and audience while eating it tf up when another str8 white guy makes fun of every minority in the book but bc hes self aware abt those issues it's totally fine

(And the ideal response would be that yeah they shouldnt be on the internet until they ARE old enough to have full-time jobs but kids like that usually don't have the most attentive parents which by itself is wildly depressing)

or like. go to school. cuz some of the toxicity I've seen around fandom spaces recently is partially children/teens who never learned fandom etiquette. Or basic social interaction. Or internet safety.
