True. Btw UPI (Unified Payments Interface) in India is a great example of self owned payment infra that has been widely adopted and is largely a success.

- Permanent address (CID) for the content which is decoupled a canonical URL (like the GitHub pages one), allowing other nodes to serve the site.
- Users can view the content offline once cached!
- Tamperproofing through hash verification (diagram)
