It just find it stunning that the Japanese had no supporting weapons within the squad/platoon. It does align with their very specialized methods of training.

Cools. Still a lack of weapons for the ammo bearers. I note also a lack of even pistol amongst the horse transport unit. That’s going to be an issue

My first thought was: could the Japanese actually outfit the unit with kit and weapons. Your TOE answers my question as it indicates each 11 man machine gun squad, other than the MG itself, carried no weapons
