I am blessed with the kindest friends in the world.
I have six cats and they all have very distinctive personalities. These are but three: Juno, Merle, and Duke.

Oh, how sad 😔
His was one of a very few accounts on Twitter that I really missed when I left last November. Such a lovely bloke, and his photos of Newfoundland were beautiful and evocative.

Ah, the good old days…
November 5, 2025 at 10:15 PM
😬 And it’s Wednesday. When I was working, we called it ‘Whackadoodle Wednesday”. For reasons.
Coupled with a full moon, it will be a good day to stay home with the doors locked.

Now do MacArthur.

He wasn’t in the army though, after the Great War.

Neither dull nor particularly revealing, at least in the personality sense. Freddie tended towards being kind and charitable.
How I wish Admiral Ramsay had lived long enough to write a memoir. Bet that would have been a scorcher.

The Peter Principle strikes again! 😉

What do you think of his memoirs? I thought they were interesting though reserved.
November 3, 2025 at 12:58 PM
Compare MacArthur and Montgomery maybe? 🤔
Naw, even Monty wasn’t that bad.
November 3, 2025 at 12:54 PM
You won in my books, Phil.
I knew I liked you. 😁

Freddie was alright, but I wonder how much of his illness was from the stress of working for Montgomery and constantly having to glue back together the relationships that Monty smashed. 🤦🏼

We are booked in for November 12/13. Just hope the snow holds off until then.
November 3, 2025 at 12:11 PM
After Operation Spring and the worst day of Canadian battle casualties so far in the war except for Dieppe, Monty sauntered into Simonds’ HQ and said “I hear you got kicked out of Tilly (-la-Campagne) again. As if our boys just weren’t trying hard enough. That’s not a good general. 😒

Or, you know, just … go with the flow. 😂
