Curious, critical and trying to be kind. Or maybe just trying . . .

I thought you'd typed the wrong year and it should have been 1985, listed as "Winner unknown"!

Thank you.

So, Lewis, what would be in your plan for national economic renewal?
November 27, 2025 at 6:36 PM
They said most PA activities would not count as terrorism but they also said some would. They are now a proscribed group. I don't support them, but I do support innocent Palestinians. I don't need to belong to a terrorist organisation to do so

Just an observation.

It wouldn't matter what government comms said or did, the media would mangle it to suit their narrative. And what the media don't manage the rightwing populace will do for themselves.

Wow! Brilliant answer.

The problem with assuming asylum seekers/refugees should stop in the first safe country they arrived in is that countries such as Greece and Italy rapidly become overwhelmed, as happened a few years ago. No easy answers, I suppose.

Depended where you were. Unemployment was certainly high in parts of the north. Used to follow and record the published statistics back in the day. And also experienced unemployment and the unemployed. But what do I know?

News to me that I was 12 years old without a care. Dream on.
November 14, 2025 at 4:14 PM
I'm remembering the despair of those unemployed, the shortages, the strikes, the blackouts and the high inflation.
November 14, 2025 at 4:08 PM
Some of us remember only too well that the 70s and early 80s were difficult times for many. we don't all wear rose coloured spectacles.
November 14, 2025 at 4:03 PM
With very high unemployment levels, at least in parts of the country.
November 14, 2025 at 2:06 PM
Fed up with the speculation. You're starting to sound very tabloid. Shame on you.

Can see how an argument could be made for staying in the - vague - hope of informing/changing minds. But they need to be posting on blue sky and threads too. Good that at least some Labour MPs are, but No 10 should be too.
November 13, 2025 at 7:02 PM
You come across as someone who has too little to do.
November 12, 2025 at 12:28 PM
Yes it was a dig, but it was also a serious comment. I've been around a long time and am aware that no matter what those at the top try to do, whether in the public or private sector, much of the ensuing success or failure depends on the workers , not just queen bee.
November 12, 2025 at 12:20 PM
We all have a vested interest in it succeeding. Maybe the personnel employed by the government are part of the problem. Just a thought.
