Went to have a walk around a National Trust park and garden this morning and they had a little secondhand bookshop there. I picked up these very different books for 50p each.

A few views around Mdina, Malta - the so-called 'silent city'. It feels a bit misnamed when it is full of tourists, but it is an interesting place to visit. We found that earlier in the morning was a little quieter and as with a lot of places, there are always some quiet side streets!

This plant is commonly known as Bear's Breeches and it's native to the mediterranean. It flowers in May/June and its leaves were a source of inspiration for architectural elements during classical antiquity.
This particular specimen was photographed outside the Domus Romana in Rabat, Malta.

These pansies in one of my raised beds cheers me up on a grey day. I got them from my favourite local garden centre and they were called 'halloween mix'.

Second World War shelters in Rabat, Malta. Some people tried to make the shelters more homely, hence the tiles on the floor here. More info here: www.wignacourtmuseum.com/about/world_...

Some traditional Maltese food which I ate in a band club (more about Maltese band clubs here: www.guidememalta.com/en/a-local-t...). Ravjul (ravioli filled with ricotta cheese and a tomato sauce) followed by mqaret (fried pastries with a date filling) and a measure of amaretto!

I've been meaning to share some pictures of our trip to Malta and Sicily (from May/June this year). Here's the RAF memorial at the Malta Aviation Museum.

Last day of annual leave for a while today and I spent the morning visiting the glorious @coventrycathedral.bsky.social and specifically the absence presence photography exhibition.

There is also a fantastic little free local museum in Melton Mowbray. They had an exhibition on about the year 2000 - they had collected objects at the time which local people thought would represent the era.

My first visit to Melton Mowbray on Wednesday. Pork pie tasting, blue plaque spotting, and I bought some Aged Leicester cheese from a local cheese shop. Not a bad day out (aside from seeing all the England and Union Flags on the drive in...).

Fourth time seeing Penn and Teller live last Friday. First time seeing a show at the London Palladium last Friday. First time being on stage with Penn and Teller (I got picked from the audience to help out with a trick!)

Married people! What did you do with your wedding dress afterwards? Mine has been in storage at my in laws' house for 13 years. We just picked it up as we're helping them clear out. I'm thinking donate to a charity shop but interested if anyone has any other ideas.

When @saurbaum.co.uk told me he bought me a Rugby gin, for a minute I wasn't sure if he meant the sport or the place... but I guess the place makes more sense!
