Well, from the top of my head „Catherine the Great” has started three wars of invasion. One of them being partition of Poland. With all the r*pe, plundering and genocide of locals that Russian invasions entail.

When you buy Early Access you only get the rights to current and any future builds of the game. But the studio is not contractually obliged to make any updates. That’s how you get tonnes of Early Access games on Steam that haven’t been updated for years, and buyers that can do nothing about it.

And you can’t equate it to paying an artist up front. You pay an artist to make you a finished piece, not a sketch and any other possible updates to the sketch that they may or may not do.

While it’s true that indie games benefit immensely from that sort of funding and that indie games are a good thing, comments like the one you mentioned don’t come from nowhere. People pay a full price for an unfinished game that might not end up ever being finished.

That’s sprinting tho, in most shooters you run by default, not walk.
