this game is driving me crazy bc the base game is just extremely mid but im playing the free update it got 5 years afterwards which I thought was an extra route but no its basically a full on linear retelling and it does everything better. i shouldn't have read the first 4 routes at all

it's like trying to find a medium between the original art style and mei's and it's the worst of both worlds imo its wrong...!

I was thinking of how annoying I find the "childhood friend wakes mc up" type heroine and then I remembered Nayuki in canon who mostly fits the character archetype but she can't wake up herself. And I wondered if that's an intentional joke on it but then I got distracted by higumei nayuki (scary)

these were the first 3 anime i watched on youtube in 3 parts at age 12 or something 🙃Even made some bewildered straight girl neighbors watch them ✌️

The joke veers thin by volume 3 but in volume 4 they actually start dating and they dynamic is very fun!! It feels like the story ends when it gets it footing, but at the same time that's when it completely throws away the premise.

It starts off as a gag manga with barely any story but midway through the first volume its rebooted to be more like a regular serialized manga. But this is the only manga where I both strongly felt it overtsayed it's welcome and also that it should have gone on longer.

in contrast to satou Shio as the second protag even given backstory and focus just falls really flat. She never really acts in a realistic way. I waited for the other shoe to drop and for Shio to become a fully realized character and at some point it seems liek it will happen but ultimately doesn't
