Made another tasty crockpot soup for the household. Looking hecking good!

This particular soup is very special to me. My mom used to make albondigas( (spicy mexican meatball soup) with turkey meatballs, and its one of my favorite comfort foods.

Not quite the same as hers, but it hits the spot.

Had to take my kitty, Zelda, to the vet on Wednesday. Poor girl had a fever and low appetite.

Was honestly a bit scary. Was up at 5 am with Misty and Kit trying to cool Zelda down and feed her some shredded chicken.

Thankfully it was just a small infection.

Poor girl is exhausted now, but ok.

Just grabbed a whole rotisserie chicken and tore that apart for lunch today. Realized that's a pretty weird thing to do, but every now and again, I just get a massive craving to caveman a whole one.

So, what are yall's weird or indulgent cravings that randomly spring up?

Cats in boxes are one of life's greatest treasures.

When you wake up at 3 30 am and be hungry.

Mix instant mashed potatoes with spices, oil, and flour. Coat em in italian bread crumb.

Poor man's croquettes.

End of the month struggle meals can either be depressing attempts at substance, or experimental bangers.

I really like thai peanut sauce. And near the end of the month, peanut butter is likely the only protein peft. But I don't always want sweets.

Let me introduce you to peanut butter ramen.

Turns out the best broth for a chicken soup is actually beef.

Adding to my previous post. Something hilarious happened today.

Kit really likes a type of cookie called a no bake. Thing gobs of oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate, and butter, hardened into a tasty treat.

They have been trying for ages to get a family recipe that they swear by.

One of the greatest feelings I experience as a home cook is when the folks you feed not only enjoy the meal, but ask for seconds.

Extra points if they've destroyed their plate in record time.

Extra extra points if said person has a notoriously small appetite.

How is it the most impromptu meal ideas always end up as bangers?

Not a compkaint, but the frequency of food I make that is just, "throw stuff onto the stove and see how it goes" and ends up a success is crazy.

Even through high school and college, the less I plan, the better the food ends up.

Feeling a little nostalgic.

Used to do a lot of fishing growing up and it just hit me how many methods of acquiring aquatic creatures I've taken part in.

You have the bog standard lakeside casting for trout and small bass most kids in the states have done.

So, I've never been the biggest soup fan. But both my roomies have been warming me up to more soups since moving in.

I chalk most of my dislike of soup to my mom batch cooking it. If you do that without adding more broth, it can become a mushy texture nightmare.

Solution? Crockpot.
