Standing over him was Ego, a man he had only ever seen from behind a screen. In real life, Ego was even more unsettling. Lanky, with bad posture, he seemed more like a caricature of someone than a real person. Isagi had always thought the reflection of his glasses were accidental, the result of a cheap, softbox lighting kit. But in Ego’s layer of screens, Isagi realized it was no accident; the man could look you dead in the eyes one second and hide behind a mask of lens glare the next.
