The US is not at war with the cartels bc congress has not declared war. This is basically saying the President can kill anyone he wants if he just says they were part of a drug cartel.
Call your representatives and tell them this is not okay and that they must stop it.

Without paid leave, Social Security remains incomplete today, at profound cost to us all. After nearly a century, it is time to complete Social Security by restoring the final form of wage loss insurance that should have been there all along: paid leave. (6/7)

When they have deported people without an opportunity to defend themselves in court—even when that person was not a citizen (and some of them are citizens)—they are depriving those people of liberty and property, and sometimes even of their lives.

It was a messed up and false thing to say. (🧵9/9)

When the Trump administration or any agent of the US government deprives a *person*—not just a citizen—of life, liberty, or property without the opportunity to defend themselves in court, they are violating the constitution. (🧵8/9)

“What process is due” is a function of whether the person is in the US and whether the government here is depriving them of life, liberty, or property—full stop.

It is not a function of “public interest” unless he means the public interest of the US Constitution being upheld (or not). (🧵5/9)

When JD Vance says “what process is due is a function of our resources, the public interest, the status of the accused, the proposed punishment, and so many other factors,” he disagrees with the US constitution. (🧵4/9)

I appreciate you sharing this. It is disheartening to watch my government being dismantled and my country scrapped for parts. I will keep trying to save all I can. If you know of actions that can be taken I hope you'll share them.
