🧶 In keeping with this week’s #showmeyourknits theme of grey knits, here is a cabled pullover that I made about 15 years ago.

I de-stressed this week by finally blocking a shawl that I finished a while back. Knitting lace is such an act of crafting faith; it comes off the needles looking shriveled and lumpy, and you have to trust that it will be ok after blocking. 🧶 #knitsky

#ShowMeYourKnits scarves. I often will make a scarf in order to learn and practice new knitting skills.

These are the scarves where I learned to knit lace (in 2008) and to double knit (in 2021). 🧶

It is literally just the name “Cracker Barrel” on a yellow background.

Best I can figure is that they’ve gone full on mental, and any kind of change whatsoever is now “woke”

If you look at this photo, you may spot that there is a horizontal strip between the blue arrows that just looks a bit different from the rest of the garment, especially visible at the base of the diamonds.

That’s color dominance. I unintentionally swapped my hold on the 2 colors for a few rows.

Is “gratuitous action pics” of knitting WIPs a thing? 🧶 Couldn’t resist the urge to take photos of my uncut steek with crochet reinforcement along either side, then partway through cutting the steek.

The crocheted slip stitch reinforcement nicely binds up the yarn ends on the raw cut edges.

Knitting WIP 🧶

I finished knitting the sleeves, so while they are blocking, I’m reinforcing and cutting open the steeks on the cardigan body.

Stranded knitting using Jamieson & Smith 2 ply jumper weight wool bought from @theloopyewe.bsky.social.

The developer’s attempt to justify by claiming increased transparency is wrong.

What he created is just a shift: from proposals and contracts using terms that make it clear to career VA staff what value the contract brings, to using language prioritized by the AI that he acknowledges is flawed.

I saw this and thought, “wow, that scenario is just going hard.”

Then I saw NBC’s subhed and realized that the scenario had far surpassed “goes hard” and was probably well into “outright farcical.”

Entering FL as an “unauthorized immigrant.”

Sounds like it was possibly a case of being brown without carrying proof of citizenship at all times.

Well, it does appear that republicans have some knowledge of how Medicare and Medicaid fraud is committed. A little reminder from Rick Scott’s (R-FL) Wikipedia page, and more details from the Miami Herald.

I’ll be sending a donation to my local library district after reading this from WaPo’s @roncharles.bsky.social:

Knitting #WIP 🧶

Body of my first self-drafted garment, a stranded cardigan.

No need to console me yet, it’s expected to look weird at this stage.

Steeks will ultimately be cut open for front opening, neck opening, and armholes.

A-line body b/c I’m pear shaped (narrow shoulders, wide hips).

I knitted this sweater. 🧶

And I wrote 165 postcards to voters in swing states and swing house districts 🗳️(not done simultaneously to sweater knitting).
