...data sharing. This makes it wildly difficult to even think about opening up my ethnographic data for other researchers to access. I'd love to hear other opinions here on BlueSky on the feasibility of sharing ethnographic data, or making it open access, particuarly video data.

Governments love numbers, less interested in qualitative/ethnographic data but the latter are more likely to capture the small details that can have major impact or consequences. They make a valid point in that. For me, as a researcher based in Sweden with its (may I say) crazy restrictions on...

The book focused specifically on their experiences of languaging in everyday life, capturing the ups and downs of language learning, as well as attitudes toward various linguistic repertoires. The authors emphasised the importance of sharing ethnographic data, as to strengthen the numbers.

We were actually just talking about this today that it doesn't seem to be safe for travel to the US for DAC. I wasn't planning on going since I have a wedding to attend but now I'm glad I don't have to make that decision on whether I should go or not. It's scary what's happening in the US.
