I wouldn't take that chance. The IRS is vicious when it comes to collecting taxes. I've known 3 different people whose lives were made hell by not paying or making a mistake. A 1099 is worse. You also have to pay in your SS/Medicare tax when using a 1099. That's a huge tax bill come October.

Do not mess with the IRS. Pay your taxes. Tax protests usually end with garnished wages and asset seizures.

My friend's daughter is 14 and has been on Medicaid since she was 18 months after it was discovered she had a brain tumor. My dad is in a nursing home for 24-hour care. Medicaid covers that. How are they supposed to work?!?! Congress is out of touch.
