That’s how you win the case—just find some other flags, or stickers, or magnets, or pins, or hats, displayed.

I don’t know anything about guns, but as I was watching this all I was thinking was, “have these people had any training?” If you know please reply. I’m genuinely asking.

The first thing I ever saw him in was the BBC’s version of Trollope’s The Way We Live Now, as M. Melmotte. Absolutely amazing cast of wonderful actors: Cillian Murphy, Matthew McFadyen, Shirley Henderson, Miranda Otto, and more familiar faces than I can count.

Lie back and think of England.

No one who has any experience with him is excited about Gavin Newsom.

In every true crime piece there is always someone who says, “this kind of thing doesn’t happen here.” Dummy, it doesn’t happen anywhere! Do they think 10s of millions of people are walking around cities witnessing murders every day??

I do absolutely apologize. I didn’t see your second post that included homelessness, and I only meant to criticize Newsom, not you.
August 31, 2025 at 2:54 AM
I really did just mean to criticize Newsom. No one else.

Thank you for directing me attention to it!

I apologized right away and that thread seems to have been deleted. I’m so sorry that I didn’t see your second post. I didn’t mean to criticize you — I meant to criticize him.

From the hellhole of Oakland. “So far gone we don’t even mention it anymore.”

The Access Project is moving to downtown Oakland on Monday! Can’t wait to be in our beautiful new location and protected by our great mayor, who knows a thing or two about how to deal with invasion-happy Republican presidents.

The new home of The Access Project starting Monday: downtown Oakland, which, per DJT, is “so far gone we don’t even mention it anymore.”

I agree, but will add that John Pfaff at least followed up his urge to make the most obvious joke with this lovely turn of phrase: “DC grand juries appear to be nullifying with joyful abandon.”

I was not happy when Barbara Lee won the Oakland mayor’s race. ( I love her, but make room for next gen, etc). But now I am SO happy. We know she knows how to stand up to a lying, invading Republican.

Never feeling unsafe because there are always people on the street.

I’ve lived in gritty Oakland (NYT never fails to describe Oakland as “gritty”) about that same amount of time and Manhattan before that. Never had a problem.
