I'm a gardener, or at least as much of one as my small front area allows. This book made me reconsider my relationship to the people, human and nonhuman, that I interact with every day. Also, she narrates her own audiobook and the incredible aural experience alone makes this worth a pick up.

Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kemmerer made me cry. And smile. And think so very many new thoughts. Half ecology text, half autobiography, it exposed me to many indigenous ways of knowing that I'd not encountered before, and now I can't stop thinking about them.

The book lost me a little with the several(!) pregnancy subplots. Otherwise, you get bits from all your favorite captains and crews over the years. Garak is in this one!!
