I think it is necessary to explain why because if the user really wants to get back into social media they will hopefully learn from this and change their actions. This also helps the social media platform because trust is built when companies are open about their policies and reasoning #UWJ201 #301

I think journalists will be just as, if not more, necessary as AI improves because they will become sources to verify truth and check the information AI is providing. Journalists will have to work alongside and in response to the information or misinformation AI is providing. #UWJ201 #301

There can be a balance! The CeraVe ad with Michael Cera used the peripheral route for most of the ad to be entertaining, but at the end they wrote "Made by Dermatologists. Not Michael Cera" which is a more central route because it gives the viewer evidence and logic to buy their product #UWJ201 #301

I fall for scarcity the most because even though I am unsure if I want the product, I get worried that it will be gone by the time I make my decision. It also makes me believe a lot of other people bought the product, which makes the brand and product seem more trustworthy. #UWJ201 #301

Yes I have especially fallen victim to this on social media. I know it is feeding me news that I align with, so I assume that any big story will be fed to me to grab my attention. The continuous scrolling of social media also means I don't check if something is backed up with evidence #UWJ201 #301

I can't really think of a situation where they are helpful. Even though conspiracies can give people a sense of security, it is ultimately a false sense of security. Many people dealing with fear turn to conspiracies and are looking for any type of answer even if it has no real evidence #UWJ201 #301

Yes!Journalists want to spread factual information and if they don't state their biases it can lead to skewed information being spread as fact. It can prevent misperceptions which builds the journalist's credibility and the reader can then decide if they want to read other perspectives #UWJ201 #301

I have definitely been affected by this when looking at political posts and the comments. I normally form an opinion on the post, but then if a lot of people in the comments are thinking differently than I was, I assume that everyone was thinking that way, which changes my attitude #UWJ201 #301

I don't think we can necessarily limit TV because of how ingrained technology is into everyone's lives. However, I think making sure future generations have a diverse media diet and educating them on the biases that media have will help to prevent these inaccurate perceptions. #UWJ201 #301

Yes definitely! The most frequent notifications I get are "Breaking News" stories, which are more negative. These negative stories are fed to us more because they grab more attention from readers. This has then made me feel like the world is more dangerous than it actually is. #UWJ201 #301

I don’t think it is necessarily harmful unless it spreads a false account of what is happening. It is natural for journalists because it helps target their audience and without it a person is not pushed to click on their article compared to another article talking about the same topic #UWJ201 #301

Transformation is the most likely to get me to buy something because it makes the ad feel personal and relatable. It has a real person's story which makes the product seem more trustworthy. Because so many ads use the reason to act now tactic, I tend to ignore those and am not affected #UWJ201 #301

The Hims and Hers ad in this year's Superbowl (promoting non-FDA approved weight loss drugs) was very controversial because many say it left out important safety information. I think that this will have a negative effect on the company, even though it has been getting so much attention #UWJ201 #301

Ads with recurring characters like Flo or Jake from State Farm stick with me the most. They are very distinguishable and its easier for me to associate that brand with them. It also gives the company more creative opportunity because the characters can create a story over multiple ads. #UWJ201 #301

I feel like the negative ads have led us in the wrong direction because instead of deciding which candidate is the best choice, some people nowadays are deciding which candidate is the least worst option. I think it has put a negative spin on deciding who to vote for. #UWJ201 #301

I think it is bad because if voters think the election is guaranteed, they won’t feel the need to vote and they could think their vote doesn’t matter. They also won't be informed on the policy issues of each candidate, but rather on who is getting the most attention at the moment. #UWJ201 #301

I think it is because without fact checking, conspiracies and opinions can hold the same credibility as facts if the reader doesn't fact check the information themself. It can be a bit biased, but I think it is more helpful than harmful in making sure people get accurate information. #UWJ201 #301
