I was born in D.C., my parents were federal workers. Today’s sculpture has an urgency we could never have foreseen in 2008 when we first put it out into the world…

We’re here on the National Mall, livestreaming all day, watching our democracy melt into a puddle.

Since 2008, we've installed seven ice sculptures in cities across the U.S.
Economy, Middle Class, The Future, The American Dream and Truth, all melted away.
