@convex.dev Is image input possible with Chef? Would be really cool to be able to give it some screenshots for UI inspo but can't seem to find a way currently...

Anyone know of a good UI/UX design course for a Frontend-focused #react dev? Spent lots of time building UIs, but would love to learn the "right" way! #WebDevelopment

So with #firefox becoming less-and-less private by the minute, what are people using instead?

I've heard #brave floated around, but when I last tried it was plain ugly haha. Maybe I can theme it or something.

Looks like Slack is back up! Time to get back to work I guess :/

Okay @raycast.com ya'll have seriously cooked with AI Extensions. Makes so much sense since I already have all of these things connected to Raycast! Can't wait to see the ecosystem adopt this.

What are y’all using for #localfirst React apps? I’ve seen TinyBase and Jazz, but I’d kinda rather own my data model a bit more. TinyBase seems close, but syncing seems problematic.

Been looking to buy a new GPU and it's a tough moment. Wait for the new gen to come out so last-gen used prices go down - or buy now to avoid price-hikes on last-gen when tariffs cause prices to skyrocket....

@kentcdodds.com noticed on epicweb.dev that the pages for "Interviews with Experts" seems to be broken - got a bunch of teeny-tiny icons. Just an FYI!

If you’re looking for an app to count calories and log your nutrition then you should try @foodnoms.com! It’s the best app I’ve used hands-down.

The free version has everything you need, with the plus version just adding more optional features.

Missed this when it was posted; *wow*:

"I hold this truth to be self-evident: the larger the abstraction layer a web developer uses on top of web standards, the shorter the shelf life of their codebase becomes, and the more they will feel the churn."

The browser debugger adds a whole new dimension of procrastination: I don’t even have to switch to the YouTube tab, I can just waste time trying to dissect the cool css effects of the docs page that I’m actually supposed to be using for work! Looking at you @motion.dev 👀

Anyone know an app that can help split finances between me an my partner? We don't share finances, but often end up splitting specific bills from credit cards and whatnot. Would love an app that is able to pull that data from Plaid so I can easily select which things to split.

For all the good Trader Joe’s has to offer how have they been getting away with selling the driest wraps on the market for over a decade now?

FYI @joshwcomeau.com your social links on joyofreact.com and css-for-js.dev both still link to Twitter. Just noticed today when I was poking around the sites :)

I think I finally "get" @astro.build. I'd tried it before and found it to be too weird, but now I'm building a blog as a learning-project and everything is just clicking into place.

My girlfriend has cut herself off from election news and is now watching the scrub daddy shark tank pitch on YouTube.

And darn it don't we all deserve a hopeful story in a time like this?

Anyone use Drizzle ORM (@drizzle.team) and know how to set included relations in a query as 'required'? I like using the query builder (as opposed to the plain `select` option) but I haven't found a way to do this yet...

I've tried a ton of routing libraries for react, both file-based and not file-based, and they all bother me in some way or another.

That is until I tried @tannerlinsley.com's tanstack.com/router. It's been an absolute game-changer! I can't recommend it enough.

i wonder if diagrams like these might help draw the distinction between ActivityPub (and how Mastodon uses it) and AT Protocol (and how it’s used by Bluesky and atproto apps)?

with AP, instance = application + hosting. data gets sent between instances.

with AT, data flows *from* hosting *to* apps
