Listen I’ve been a big women’s college basketball fan since long before a lot of people got into it the past couple years but cutting from the marquee BYU-UConn game with SEVEN MINUTES LEFT to the start of South Carolina-USC is INSANE

Every single CNN talking head tsk tsk-ing Mamdani for celebrating and for not immediately bending the knee to billionaires. What a scourge of a network

I didn’t think JJ McCarthy would be a good NFL qb in college then became a fan when I learned how into meditation and mental health he is but it was really weird to see so many in the media loudly declare he was a bust the past couple weeks just bc he was taking his time coming back from an injury

The NFL running “join ICE” commercials while their end zones are emblazoned with the phrase “end racism” is some next level cognitive dissonance.

Also this is underselling it, because for instance in one of these polls he's winning Jews by 17 points (great!) but among Jews under 45 he is winning by 56 POINTS.
Polling shows Zohran Mamdani leading with Jewish voters in NYC’s mayoral race. But the New York Times keeps framing him as “alienating” the community—while ignoring polls that say otherwise.

Why Does the New York Times Keep Ignoring Polls Showing Mamdani Leading with Jewish Voters?
Polling shows mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani in a commanding lead with Jewish New Yorkers, but you won’t read about it in the paper of record.

Loved EDDINGTON, a movie about how we are surrounded by pathetic, cynical, grubby losers and the cost of their delusions. Hilarious as it is, Ari Aster’s horrors are all too real

Pope Francis FaceTimed this church every night for like a year and a half to check on these people. knew their names. asked if they ate that day. lit up when he got to wave at a baby. prayed with them to bring comfort. and yet the right wing tradcaths of the GOP will simply shrug this off

It is frustrating that things are so expensive now and that tablets recommend tipping on services that maybe didn’t used to recommend tipping but that’s not the service worker’s fault. They work really fucking hard for low pay

“Tipping discourse” that is directed at service workers and undermines the hard, underpaid work they do and deflects from the fact that they do not control how tipping/their income works really grinds my gears

The thing is, the rescission package defunding public media and foreign aid had to pass before Friday because of statutory time limits. Any combination of Dem senators could have filibustered the package this week and pushed debate past the deadline. The question to ask is why didn't they?
