overwatch adding way too many heroes at once imo (possible balancing nightmare) but honestly a very nice refresher and its very clear they are putting tons of talent and work into it. i hope it brings a lot of people back to try the game, the game was never really dead in the first place...

highguard hate is so forced. people WANT the game to be bad but at its worst its just a decent shooter that borrows a lot of elements from other games, even other genres of games. this proves to me more than anything that expectations play a massive role when it comes to general reception...

played like 3 games of highguard and its actually pretty fun, the apex DNA is strong. but playing with randoms is absolutely abysmal, the randoms always just run to the objective 1v3 and perma die until we are all forced to defend the base together.

the amount of people who still live and die by the “dollar to hour” ratio for video games is insane. like just because a game is $60 does not mean it HAS to provide 60 hours of gameplay minimum. terrible philosophy, no respect for art. just a slave to slop (maybe that is too harsh)

i guess genAI in the gaming industry is just the norm. knowing larian uses it hurts for sure, but also e33 devs admit to using it as well... is this just inevitable? think about how many studios are probably using it but just not admitting to it. it is so cooked

finally got bg3 on my main account, the 100% achievement hunt begins. i got the honor mode achievement already in about 3 minutes because my saves carried over, so i just loaded my last save on honor mode and triggered the end sequence...

borderlands 4 is great, had a few performance concerns at first but once i figured out my video settings its been smooth, no crashes either. the weapons are awesome, campaign is fun, the writing is actually funny, buildcrafting is interesting, and im looking forward to playing other characters

something about hollow knight never really hooked me, probably a multitude of reasons, but silksong is a different story so far. immediately captivated by the world, music, and atmosphere. hopefully i can return to hk and properly enjoy it instead of feeling i had to play it before silksong

honestly i think elden ring nightreign is genius, but fromsoft really needs to get with the times in terms of multiplayer. crossplay and voice chat would be huge

marathon's stolen art situation hurts big time. it doesn't change the fact that cross' artwork has looked similar for almost a decade, that will go unseen and uncared for by most and the whole game will be labeled as "stolen art" for the rest of its existence...

i'll never forget the time i posted a game breaking bug on the cyberpunk subreddit that allowed my damage to infinitely stack until it overflowed and hit negative numbers, and a brigade of game defenders came to shit on me for modding the game and posting my bug maliciously to make the game look bad

i just really dont want to play extraction shooters man.
the idea of losing everything you have accumulated over the past hours or even days just sounds not fun to me. but all of the new extraction games look very cool. if you actually enjoy that gameplay loop, i envy you

are extraction shooters even capable of going "mainstream?" i feel like the genre is just so inherently brutal to the average person that is just turns everyone away from it. and any extraction shooter that is made to be "easier," is going to lose the core extraction shooter audience..

what is really annoying is that most of the people who actually played marathon really like it and want to keep playing, but all the outside tourists are the ones who are calling it concord 2.0. the narrative they are spinning will steer players away for no good reason

i think after seeing what a lot of playtesters had to say, it's looking grim for chances at a singleplayer story mode or some other mode in marathon. insanely missed opportunity considering how they are setting up the lore in this game. trying to find story bits during pvp sounds.. not fun

i think marathon desperately needs another game mode other than just extraction pvpve. destiny players love hoarding shit in their vault; their vault being wiped every season is basically a destiny players worst nightmare. i think this game is trying to attract a whole new audience-
