Just going back through some photos from 2017. Any chance this is a Halmahera keelback (Tropidonophis punctiventris)? 🐍

Accidental, slightly atemporal, photograph of the desert / foothills outside Las Vegas. I didn’t mean to shoot B&W or to add so much grain; reminded me off a pre-Hoover Dam aerial reconnaissance picture.

Been confusing people on IG by posting #latergrams and realised that this place was probably a far better place to post them. These are from a trip down the Thames to the Red and Shivering Sands forts…

Spotted a bird out on the Nile, around the First Cafaract - looked like a Masked Shrike (Lanius nubicus) but it was in the middle of a load of brush, and hard to photograph. When I came to review the photos on a (slightly) larger screen, I found something unexpected. It had been taken by a snake…

Had a fantastic morning birding around Aswan. Senegal thick-knee (Burhinus senegalensis) and White-throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) were standouts, along with black stork, Egyptian vulture and spoonbill #ornithology #birds
