Schools don’t teach “American Exceptionalism ” or that we have a perfect history, at least not schools I or my children have attended. For sure, a more sanitized version, but my kids know about slavery, colonization, the genocide of indigenous Americans, etc. It comes from our media.

Talking about different global cultures, traditions and holidays, etc. begins in kindergarten.

Yes, actually. My kids’ public school (blue state) starts world history in middle school (4th or 5th grade) and a typical school year is pretty evenly split in terms of time spent learning about US history vs world history, government, wars and important figures.

In fairness, the quality/diversity of school curriculum in the US is highly varied. Higher cost-of-living states tend to have higher standard-of-living: better jobs, better healthcare, better schools. There’s direct correlation between these states (typically ”blue”) and the opposite end (“red”).
