Had lunch in a social club in Cumbria and the three ladies of a certain age on the table behind me were called Una, Pearl and Margaret. They were discussing Winnie’s new bungalow - has no views but it does have step-free access from the carport.

I’d already started buying DVDs once again as my enthusiasm for streaming waned. Now I’ve retrieved the CD collection from the loft and repaired an old (and once very fancy) CD player we’d inherited. I had genuinely forgotten hope nice it is to just listen to an album from start to finish.

Started watching Glenda Jackson’s Elizabeth R. Never seen it before and expected to switch off very quickly (as I thought I would not *get* it), but holy fuck! It’s amazing! Sets and production values of its time but blown away by the script, plot, direction, casting and acting. Great stuff
