Air energy, however, is intellectual, pertaining to our consciousness, our thoughts and ideas, and the transmission of information across space and time. The Lovers card reminds me, through its association with Air energy, that we are not talking about a feeling of love or intimacy or connection so much as we are talking about a theory of love, or maybe, a love ethic.

One resource that can materially nourish me when I feel hopeless: 5 of air, reversed My capacity for understanding and telling the truth, even when it is painful, will help to keep me safe in dangerous times. My ability to lie to those who would use my words against my neighbors, my friends, and myself will help to keep me safe. One relationship I can lean into when I am feeling alone: Strength Strength corresponds to Leo energy, and for me means “courage”, and I automatically thought of one of my beloveds, a courageous Leo who teaches me how to love myself well, how to apply my life force where it matters most, and how to rest, even when things are moving so quickly. One teacher I can look to when I am confused about what is true: 10 of Fire Dr. Devon Price, a trans academic who wrote “Laziness Does Not Exist”, talks about ableism and whose insta account is sharing very practical tips about how to survive and take care of each other. One practice I can return to when I am feeling restless and unsure of where to focus: Ace of Earth Practices that support me in being more generous & that help me feel grateful, reciprocity, offerings not only for the ancestors but for my people and for the Earth, accepting whatever material gifts are offered, believing another world/path is possible
