I came across an outdated guide on image grid sizing crop/proportions for bsky earlier, and I felt it was important to create an updated version! Please use this new guide instead!
Up-to-date BlueSky Crop Aspect Ratio Crop Sizes for Bluesky as of 18 Oct 2024 By default, single images are uncropped. If image is too tall (Exceeds the 1:2 aspect ratio) then it will be cropped. Single images that are too tall may be scaled down but aspect ratio is preserved With two images, both of them share a square aspect ratio of 1:1 For three images, the first image is square (1:1) while the other two are half-squares (2:1) And for 4 images, all of them are 3:2

Tristan Elwell @tristanelwell (on Cara) DON'T ENGAGE, JUST BLOCK Those of you who are on Bluesky know this ethos, but I think it's important to bring it over here as well. I just had an Al troll show up in one of my threads, and boom, instablock. As John Scalzi says, "no snarking, no dunking, no pointing out their errors in logic, etc, just immediately blocking them and robbing them of the engagement they crave." Obviously, if somebody is flagrantly breaking the TOS rules, report them first, but this dude was studiously NOT doing that. Also, YOU DON'T HAVE TO JUSTIFY MUTING OR BLOCKING SOMEBODY. Find them annoying? Block. Just don't like their vibe? Block. Don't like their work but everybody insists on reposting it constantly? OK, maybe don't block, but certainly mute.
