The Black Hills (Paha Sapa) are stolen, as held by the Supreme Court in 1980. The Court denied the Lakota redress of returning the lands, instead awarding the Nation about a billion dollars. The Lakota, understandably, have refused the funds. They want their relative to come home to their care.

Being shocked and surprised is not enough. Calling out racism and rejecting it should be the default for everyone but so long as there are people ready, eager and willing to endorse and support blatant racism the disease will continue to thrive, destroy and divide our society.
