Oh well, can’t have everything…

It seems to be working fine, I can’t figure out how it processes giant wav files faster than copy can copy them to dev null. Loving simd and rayon! Maybe linux is caching the file when I memory map it. You may follow the project here: github.com/nondualknowi...

Hmm but cp takes 2341 ms to read the file, need to double check this it is too fast.

It looks reasonable though (0.11) and I know there are a few hours of silence towards the middle of the file. Sox got 0.12 but it only looked at the first three hours of the file.

The parallel simd sum of squares calculator function and rms calculation function I wrote calculates rms across a 42.7 hour 59 gig wave file in 529ms. I am using memory mapped I/O and a Framework Desktop. I don’t know if the answer is right yet 😆 (it is a big file!)

Working on my parallel simd rms then I can work on making a heap of rms values to organize rms values for different durations… Then I will make it find all the silence periods and rank them in order of duration. Programming is fun! 🤩

I don’t think I’m that weird, but self-declared normal people tell me I am. Maybe they’re actually the weird ones.

The speaker transducer is wired to the crossover and ready to be mounted in the housing.

I have a bag like this and I can’t figure out how the plastic zipper is supposed to hold it closed during a thermal event.

Here we all thought they were attacking Harvard because of their educational creds and it turns out its an elite turf war.

Wow. Everybody knows and they’re going along with it like it is just a big joke.
