finally another hypercarnivore! this is Tenuignathus also known as Tread Dogs, these medium sized predators use their bear trap like mandibles and exognath to capture prey or tear chunks of flesh from large targets.

Meet Tenuignathus inambulatus, also known as Tread Dogs or Trident Jaws, these are new kind of creature to be described, while still being members of Dignathotheriidae, they are Drepanignathiids, and possess some unique differences, for starters they have their first pair of limbs adapted into cutting blades which meet with the bottom exognath to form a sleek cutting surface. a slightly more fused mantle, elongated abdominal segment, and the claws on their first pair of walking limbs can be angled upwards and off the ground to avoid dulling them, and to be used to grapple in combat. Drepanignathiids come in many sizes, from small cat sized stalkers, to hulking giants designed to tackle large prey. most members of this clade hunt solo, but some hunt in monogamous pairs to take down larger prey.

This long legged Deinostrepsid is Tachyvenator fraxinopis a large pursuit hunted adapted to chasing down prey in the open steppe. Their preferred prey are medium to small Anacheirids, Velocipods, and sometimes other ankylodactylids. comapred to most Deinostrepsids, this clade has very round and expanded mantles, the boney top of the skull which also acts as attachment points for the 1st pair of limbs. This expanded mantle is used as a resonating chamber, with airways attached to their respiratory system. This modification amplifies their mating/territorial calls, giving them a booming, thunderous call. Hexapod's respiratory systems are completely separate from their digestive track, meaning the animal doesn't need to open their mouths to produce sound, instead making sounds by modified structures which produce sounds inside some or all 4 of their nostrils located between the 1st pair of limbs as well as the oral tentacles. This is Senturogastor siegmundi, a medium sized Baropod which inhabits the continent Sentura. These tall clumsy creatures make the dense jungles of this region their home.

Behold Senturogastor siegmundi! This is a large lumbering Ankylodactlyid which has adapted to life of high browsing and doing not much else. Most closely related genus live near the equator, populating the vast tropical forests that make up Faeothon's coasts, some species even living on islands. You may have noticed the bright blue coloration on the oral tentacles, this feature is unique to males, and despite most Hexapods being born male, this vivid color only appears during their adult stage of life, which they spend most of their time trying to mate. These creatures are not fast, or even graceful in the slightest, sometimes tripping or falling over through dense vegetation. Because of this, Baropods are masters of manipulating their environment. As herds progress through the jungle, they push over just about everything they can, making paths and small clearings which they use as sort of pathways. But this not only benefits them, but other creatures as well, giving any other jungle dwellers a clear path to walk, or a hunting trail to stalk.

As members of Virosocheiridae, these creatures possess venom glands which end in the pseudo-teeth on their 1st pair of limbs. These creatures can also be somewhat social, forming small hunting packs of up to 8 when suitable prey is in the general area. The average successful hunt of a member of a Virosocheirid goes like this; once prey has been located, this slim and nimble predator attempts to close the gap between themselves and their target. Once close enough the predator bursts out from its cover running down their prey and landing a bite and injecting venom into the victim. After this point the Virosocheirid doesn't have to do much except for keep trotting after the prey who is likely still running. After only a few minutes, the prey is struggling to move and is beginning to succumb to the venom, the Virosocheirid who has caught up at this point might bite it a few times, but would much rather use it's tail. Virosocheirids possess long tails which are used as whips to stun and injure small prey. Once the prey has stopped moving, it is swallowed whole, even if the prey is still breathing at this point, Virosocheirids don't wait for you to die before they start eating.

This is Reptanvenator rufus, a small arboreal hunter which resides in the mid-story too canopy regions of Faeothon's jungles. This genus belongs to the larger clade Tholopoda, meaning 'canopy foot', which also falls under Capiopoda, meaning 'grasping foot' (all described members of Capiopoda are shown in the size chart). Tholopods are small yet ferocious hunters, using their long spindly limbs to clamber from branch to branch, stalking any small prey they see fit to hunt. Unless their prey happens to just wander into their personal space, their most common means of predation are ambush tactics, jumping from a nearby branch and seizing their prey with their raptorial first pair of limbs which have undergone what is known as 'centaurism', a term coined by Sigmund Nastrazzurro. the term centaurism refers to when an animal adapts two of its six limbs to be held off the ground, thus giving it a similar body plan to the centaurs of greek mythos. Members of Tholopoda are defined by their raptorial first pair of limbs, large vertical eye stalks, short mantle, long and spindly limbs ending in large grasping claws, and often colors which allow them to blend into their habitat. This is Sphenocauda regalis! a relatively small member of the clade baropoda, residing in the jungles and forests of Sentura, these graceful creatures feed on low to floor level foliage and the occasional small animal. living in groups of on average of 15 members they can be seen traveling together in single file lines with the eldest members in front, leading the way to popular feeding grounds, nesting sites or places to get a drink. Sphenocauda are also considered pollinators, as well as seed dispersers, unwillingly eating fruit like structures or accidentally unleashing a plants gametes into the air. These creatures are also often found herding near groups of larger baropods such as Senturogastor siegmundi, using their signature forest trails, and foraging amongst them.

This vigorous omnivore spends most of its day patrolling a set territory for small animals, high nutrient plants, as well as the occasional carcass. This species is known for being very territorial, especially when it comes to mating rights. Male will fight aggressively with one another, raising their bodies and then slamming into each other, all while slashing at each other with any and all limbs, many of which are evolved just for this purpose. Besides fighting, during the large congregations of males and females during mating events, males do a unique bobbing dance, while waving their first and second pairs of limbs, as well as showing off their stripped tail, and flashing/rotating their cartilaginous penises which have a ball socket joint at its base. Males genitalia also become a vibrant greenish yellow during these events, which becomes a very attractive color, standing out against the rusty reds and dull oranges of the other Acanthastrepsids, as well as the background flora. All current described members of ankylodactyloidae, from top top bottom; Senturogastor siegmundi, Deinostrepsis iridus, Tachyvenator fraxinops, Dryptostrepsis palustris, Acanthastrepsis trichogaster, Prasinops sauracauda.

Behold Apatodon collaris! a medium sized dignathotheriid with a general diet, leaning towards herbivory, occupying a niche similar to wild boars. This is the first species I ever designed for Faeothon almost 2 years back, and is a sort of mascot for the project at this point.

This is Apatodon collaris, a medium sized Dignathotherian which eats just about anything, having adapted their radula like organ into a set of pseudo-teeth, and their 1st pair of limbs into a pair of mandibles, which come down to meet an exognath. Which is an extension of the skull used to give the upper mandibles something to chew or chomp against. You may notice the bright coloration, and lack of external penis like most hexapods have. The coloration is unique to males, and the penis is actually able to be retracted into the abdominal cavity.
