I think part of our anger at bsky comes from how they communicate. When *you* explain it, there's an understanding of "yeah it sucks but really there's no other viable option". When bsky admins respond to questions and anger it feels like they're just saying "too bad, and actually we don't care"

I think the problem you're having is that she's right and fairness doesn't apply to the government and we hate that she's right and there is nothing we can do to change it. I think you understand perfectly, you just don't like it.

Being in a similar situation, I think the lighthearted approach is an attempt to communicate concern without making our friends feel judged, bc we're afraid of alienating them. I get that it might not work, but I think we have to start light or it feels like an attack.

Friend of mine has a "friendship" with copilot and says "it gets me" and "has a gentle humorous soul." I explained how LLMs work and that it has no soul and also its effect on the environment and she justified it by saying that she's old and it brings her joy so the rest doesn't matter. It hurt me.

I had to go look and the one link that works is the blog link but when you go to the blog none of the headlines link you to an actual post so it's fair to say there's literally nothing there.
