Two copies of cry Voidbringer. One with a white cover and black font, the other with a black cover and yellow font. To me, in the image the void looks more striking in the black? But I think in person it's more striking in white, so I prefer the white cover.

Same rating, different vibes. Both a solid 3.5. The Deep by Rivers Solomon is gorgeous in concept and the images built are decadent. But, it tries to do too much. More to Love by Georgina Kiersten is a cute m/m romance novella with bi & fat rep 💕 - cozy & steamy #blackbooksky #booksky
This is the cover of the Deep. It's a mermaid swimming upwards in front of a whale maybe? Lots of different tones of blues. I think it's lovely. This is the cover more to love. It has a Black man and a Korean-American man on the front, standing in front of a book case. Unusual style for a book cover which is nice, but looking at it now these characters are way slimmer than the characters in the text and I'd prefer the cover where they're both fat.

I just finished the dystopian fantasy - Cry, Voidbringer by Elaine Ho & this book took a hammer to my heart so many times I'm surprised I survived the experience. Suffice to say, it was a wonderful experience. #booksky #blackbooksky

Just finished Freshwater which I really liked but it's not my fave Emezi.
The dead cat tail assassins by P Djeli Clark was a tonne of fun, unexpectedly hilarious.

Yes I'm still reading Bloody Rose 😭 It's so long! I started the audio book of Harriet Tubman Live in Concert by Bob the Drag Queen and I'm kinda enjoying it. It's a nice way to ingest some black history. #booksky #blackbooksky

Telepaths don't need safe words by Cecilia Tan. It's two hands bound by rope. I don't recognise the tie. The hands have long nails pointing to the top of the book in a submissive fashion and the arms extend down to the bottom. The title is a banner across the image. And the words "and other stories from the erotic edge of s/f fantasy". And age of majority ebook edition on the right hand side. I think age of majority is the publisher?
