Finally went to the Barnes and noble for the criterion since it’s eyes wide shut day. I didn’t know The Shrouds was already coming from criterion and only $15! And with a mistaken 4K UHD sticker that tricked me at first (it only includes a blu-ray disc)

It’s Spellbooks and Potions day for #hARToween25

Some orange fish that could pass as angry goldfish but they are piranhas surround this dead person to chew off the little bit of remaining flesh. there is a sign laying next to the corpse, supposedly removed from the ground above and tossed into the water, which reads, "Caution! Piranhas! No skinny dipping!" How many have died because of this vandalism? At least one.

I did not get as much detail as I'd like out of this, and it might make you feel like your vision is fuzzy, but... I um, I like the little ghosties in the trees.

I started free drawing a Necronomicon and then decided to put makeup and a wig on it, and then it kept spinning out from there. I don't know why It's Friday Night.

Noooohohooo. I ordered the 101 Films releases of Never Sleep Again and Crystal Lake Memories documentaries and upon arrival I'm discovering they are indeed Region Locked.

A reminder to pour grains of salt all over unsubstantiated blu-ray forum comments.

Fun video! I like this one. I never really have a clear recollection of the plot because, you're right, it's got sooo much bizarre (but entertaining) stuff piled in.

I have this page from the Second Sight blu-ray booklet saved on my phone. About the film trying to pass Philippines censors...

It was viewed by the BRMPT (the film censorship body of the Philippines) who rejected it on 2 March 1983. In a letter to Screen International producer Mark Forstater noted some of the grounds on which the board had reached their decision: "You are hereby informed that your motion picture print and trailer entitled XTRO were reviewed en banc by the BRMPT on 2 March 1983 at its office and were disapproved for the following reasons: 1. Demonic! Could only be a product of a crazy mind. 2. Very unhealthy film. 3. No social value at all. Project negative and the uncanny aspect of man's nature. 4. It's bloody, nauseating and serves no social purpose at all. 5. Dramatises evil in lurid detail. Can cause traumatic experience even in adults. for children it would be nightmarish and psychologically harmful and deadly. 6. Pictures as explicitly horrible as these should be discouraged. 7. Grotesque, perverse, horrible. Story obviously written by someone with an over fertile imagination, explicit sex, possession by evil spirit of a child. No redeeming qualities at all. 8. Too horrible, nauseating and gory scenes and thereby removing any entertainment or informative value of the film. 9. Not fit for people with heart condition.
