Travel blogger and writer.
@ nomadwomen.com where I encourage older women to travel more and better. Thinking about a memoir. #CancerSurvivor relearning to be whole. Plan to walk the long-distance Dutch Pieterpad soon. I repost pastel de nata.
I've got one this week for the #BlueSkyArtShow, with the theme of "Inside." This was taken from inside my sister's living room looking out.

Brunch w/ a friend at a brand-new venue in downtown McMinnville, OR. Aveline (on Third @ Galloway) is a beautiful room w/ great coffee & pastries, lovely service, & this yum 3-egg scramble w/ havarti, bacon, caramelized onions & potatoes. Def worth a stop. #visitmcminnville

I still use Bluesky on a daily basis. But I sometimes forget about the #TravelBloggersCommunity. Thanks for the reminder.
Here is a fave photo taken in the Lucerna Passage just off Wenceslaus Sq. in Prague. The sculpture is by Czech artist David Czerny.

Hmmm, I really thought I had left this behind when I left the Arizona desert. Thank God for A/C!

I grew up in California, in the '50s-'60s, where there was a lack of art museums. What I knew about art came from a book. This was the 1st "serious" museum I ever visited. I was in awe!
This was my favorite work. I'd studied it in art history books but was gobsmacked to see in person.

A3: This one was pretty darn great. At The Haunted Hamburger, in Jerome, Arizona (a really fun place to stop if you are headed to the Sedona area). Also try their boozie milkshakes. A miracle of goodness. #FoodTravelChat #TravelAddicts #NationalBurgerDay.

I think you'll admit this statue's a bit wacky...Good King Wenceslaus riding a dead horse hanging upside down. It's located in the Lucerna Passage in Prague & it's by well-known Czech sculptor David Czerny. I wrote more about it in this post. bit.ly/IT-Prague-2

Last week's trip on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad took us along the edge of Tillamook Bay from Garibaldi to Rockaway Beach. This is in Garibaldi, taken through the window of the moving train. #Stunday #OregonCoastScenicRailroad #TravelOrehon #VisitGaribaldo #PNW

Combine a stop here with one at Montezuma's Well, a few miles away. Once an underground pool, the"roof" collapsed eons ago, leaving a perfect oval pool in an otherwise arid landscape. It gets few visitors& is very peaceful. Also has Cliff dwelllings. #TravelAddictsHistory #TravelAddicts #parkchat

A4: I agree w/ Jonathan that some of the US NP structures almost classify as "castles." I've been lucky to stay at Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone, an enormous log structure & the 1st great park lodge of the western US. #TravelAddictsHistory #TravelAddicts #parkchat

A2: Montezuma's Castle National Park in Camp Verde, Arizona has the ruins of a 5-story 20-room cliff dwelling from the pre-Columbian Sinagua people. It's one of the smallest US NPs, but very worth a visit. #TravelAddictsHistory #TravelAddicts #parkchat

May is when Europe remembers victory, as the horror and brutality of WWII finally came to an end. In the Netherlands, before they celebrate, they remember those who didn't come home...from WWII and every other war. The remembrance ritual touched me deeply. Here's my reaction. bit.ly/amst-remember

Just what you want to hear from your oncologist: "See you in 6 months."
Also, the #rhododendrons are positively exploding all over town, along with wisteria and lilacs, heavily perfuming the air. #Oregon in spring is...aaahhhh. #VisitMcMinnville

Tour #4- GROUP DAY TRIP
Small group trip to visit the ghetto & concentration camp at Terezín, near Prague. Not"fun" but a very powerful experience that left me shaken.

A favorite place to go in Amsterdam is IJ-hallen, the largest flea market in Europe. Coming up May 3-4 & May 24-25, in/around the NDSM dock area, a short (free) ferry ride from Central Station. €6 gets you in. 9am-4:30pm. Combine w/ a visit to Straat, the street art museum.

For this week's #urbangaze, here is an exhausted-looking Parisienne sitting on a bench in the Metro, waiting for a train. I know that look and that feeling.
