I'll have to look at that town. We are talking about the southside, the Algarve area initially. We need to be close to doctors but don't want to be surrounded by expats. If I'm going to live in a different country, I want to be immersed in the culture.

Yep! My partner and I live in Texas and am planning on selling our home and moving to Portugal. Seems like a very welcoming country.

We're heading to Europe. The UK is too "grey" and don't want to go anywhere near Eastern Europe. That's why we're talking about Portugal. Seems to be a beautiful place with welcoming people. The LGBT community in the US is under attack and we can't sit back and be locked away.
