Optimist, retired attorney. “Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.”
Yes
This. They’ve been racists for decades (see Reagan’s “welfare queens”), and Newt Gingrich led the charge against any bipartisanship in the ‘90s, but Obama really broke them completely.

Health care is a fundamental right. Sick people cannot work or take care of their families. So the economy will suffer, and this ugly law will hurt everyone in different ways.

Social Security has nothing to do with the deficit." - Ronald Reagan

🚨 Republicans love to talk about slashing the benefits we earned and paid into our whole lives — all in the name of “fixing the deficit.” But that’s a BIG LIE.

✅ Even Reagan spoke the truth.

Figured I’d hop on here today for the 15th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act.

With everything going on right now, it’s easy to feel like regular folks can’t make a difference – but the ACA is a reminder that change is possible when we fight for progress.

And so it begins and ends.
This is horrible to post, but I may as well post it. We are essentially shutting down research operations in my group, which is focused on treatments for pediatric brain cancer. I’m a well funded investigator, and there’s no choice. Science can’t function without the stability of NIH

Trudeau: The tariffs have nothing to do with fentanyl but are designed to collapse the Canadian economy in order to make it "easier to annex us."

Let that sink in.

This is TERRIFYING. Americans, listen to Trudeau's address to get the Canadian perspective on this.
Trudeau: "Now I want to speak directly to one specific American. Donald...it's not in my habit to agree with the WSJ, but Donald, they point out that even though you're a very smart guy, this is a very dumb thing to do. We friends fighting is exactly what our opponents around the world want to see."

Ron Filipkowski … Stephanie Ruhle yesterday. Very clear explanation of the grift.
My best recommendation to huge legacy media companies right now is to hire a reporter who understands crypto, the law, and politics - and how they are currently intersecting in an incredibly corrupt way that almost everyone is ignoring.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.

18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

We made this website to tell our story:

Also, sending emails on weekends to terrorize and cause unnecessary stress and anxiety. As others have said, “The cruelty is the point.”
The goal is to terrorize federal workers into quitting. That’s it. Constant changes. Canceling work from home then closing offices. Laying off probationary employees. It’s designed to break the government. Then privatize it for profit. It’s not efficiency. It’s collapse. Only peasants will suffer.

Closing USAID (illegally) is like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Sadly, lives are being ruined.
Oops, the unintended (or under-reported) consequences of the Billionaire Blitzkrieg of our government and country.

The new Trump “Hate State” administration is already hurting American farmers and the poor- both domestically and abroad- all at once.

It’s time to speak up and speak out!!!
US farmers sold $2 billion of food to USAID. Not any more.

- US farmers provided 41% of food delivered by USAID
- $340M of purchases/shipments are now paused. Over 680,000 tonnes.
- Food stranded in Houston
- Aid stopped in transit.

The world’s poor starving, food rotting & US farmers screwed.

It's not hysteria. It's not exaggeration. It's not premature. Where we are is a place we have never been in this country and threat we face is one that is by no means certain that we can survive. But let's do what we can, whatever we can, something precious and fragile is at dire risk of being lost.

I apologize to all the people it will cost money and the businesses it will hurt.

But it’s the only way for tariffs to be seen for what they are
