You’re right. Now to the gases/beef: catastrophic weather events (fires, rains, droughts) are increasing in frequency and magnitude, due to human activity (mostly CO production -> global warming). This is objective and basic science for our century. We should do more, but some want to do less.

All hands should be on helping each other and prioritising most important common assets, not buying your own fire brigade to focus on your own property. It sucks, that’s clear.

I think the full implicit message is “help ME and MY house, I’ll pay more, I have money, screw the rest”. Which is exactly the type of behavior which leads us to global warming - “I’ll be fine, I can pollute, I have money, I’ll buy my way out…”.

I don’t miss the forced trailers on dvd’s, which you couldn’t skip, and then the sluggish “menu” just to start the movie… Or remembering which episode of which dvd of that series I was at.
But today the costs of streaming and the number of platforms are both rising. +30% for Disney+ this year… 🙄

You can read the book “Mindhunter”, by Douglas and Olshaker, which I suppose was the origin of the tv show. But it doesn’t have the narrative of the tv show. And probably more intense too. If I remember correctly from reading it 20 years ago. Please check before buying :)
