Idahos governor knew and supported this raid -a deep red state, yet many senior residents need fed assistance, the state depends on immigrant laborers, defunded public education in favor of vouchers the public didn’t want… I could go on… that’s why as a lesbian mother, I moved to ATL.

I have loved reading your writings over the years. I still can’t stomach the reality of Idaho being even more overtly racist, homophobic and oppressive. I always hoped we’d learn from our own terrible history. But the colonization and opression is more alive than ever.

I grew up in Northern Idaho. I was in the Boise area for 15 years, until 3 years ago. There were always racists but after Trump Idaho became a sanctuary for more violent racists. Everyone in Idaho that’s not a Christian white man, should be very scared.
