I do consumable liquids seriously, very seriously. Cultural attaché Sterling Coffee Roasters and Aria Gin. Former: civil servant/server whisperer; medieval architectural historian/archeologist; forest fire fighter.
Gotta say, I wondered what might count as “exotic” at a gas-mart. Ultimately I decided I probably didn’t really need to, or more aptly put, want to know. Pretty sure Oregon being Oregon & not Chicago (or France) they were offering the world/renowned Peugeot Malört custard pie so no need to look.

Remember, remember the 12th of November! 11/12/1970 a sacred date in Oregon history when the Oregon Hwy Division put special meaning into Oregon’s motto “She Flies With Her Own Wings” using dynamite to remove near Florence a stinking, rotting, 8 ton, 45’ long sperm whale. Happy Exploding Whale Day!

On walk today on eastern side of Lake Champlain, there were more than a dozen. Couldn’t get down to the shore to see what they were interested in.
@allthebeset.bsky.social friends of your friends maybe?

Portland, OR yesterday, I’m pretty sure this was taken while waiting 45 minutes for the group where I was to move … for scale the black blob above the bottom shadow is a police car, I was just a little bit ahead (that is towards the bottom). I’m the one w/ the red beanie and yellow scarf.

I believe my civic duty is done. Not one copy, but three (kinda like the three branches of US government in the days of yore)

Doesn’t look good ahead I guess.

Well, I’ve always thought my cactus kinda looked like a bunny … so here’s a pic of my cactus made up to be a bunny pretending to be a ghost … (yeah, this sorta thing not really in my wheelhouse but bear with me)

Full Harvest Moonrise over Portland 6:45 this evening (10/6/25) from Pittock Mansion. And oh, right, almost forgot to mention, obviously … looking out, as you can see, across the war-ravaged cityscape of downtown.

Hey folks, this is Night Market in inner SE Portland, Saturday 4 October, OBVIOUSLY THESE CROWDS ARE WAY OUT OF CONTROL … not!
Funny how crowds act when you don’t toss teargas at them.

In applying his craft to
diligently remove each quintet of dead white pine needles, the bonsai master, ever so carefully, realigns the universe to favor war-ravaged Portland.

That time of year out when I’m out working the Rocky Ranch Annual Dust Bunny Roundup. Just so ya know rustling these feral buggers ain't like vacuuming those city dwellers under your sofas. Who knew all those years of art history grad school would lead to work like this on the Oregon High Desert.

Why do I think ASO doesn’t take the TdFF very seriously? Doesn’t seem to know enough to match up last year’s jersey winners w/their pic. (Screen grab this morning from official TdFF website.
