Before everyone races to condemn the electrical utility company, note that those owers always have dirt access roads for repairmen. It's an easy matter for any arsonist to go down those roads and make mischief. Not to say that's what happened, but anybody can reach the base of those towers

It is not close to 100 ft. That estimate was based on the assumption that the surfer in the pic is standing straight up. In fact the surfer is leaning over & crouched, so the wave is about 50 ft.

Nonsense. Would u eliminate fire insurance policies on houses? Would you eliminate auto insurance policies for cars? Medical insurance saves the same purpose: ii spreads the cost of major illnesses across all patients. Now if you're trying to say a nationalized health insurance is better, I agree.

Emerson did not say that. It's a great sentiment, but like nearly every quote that appears in Bluesky , it's attributed to the wrong person. Granted, it was inspired by text from an Emerson essay. Since when did accuracy and truthfulness become so unimportant?
