So much winning #TariffsAreTaxes

Even #Trump's inner circle knows his tariffs are the economic equivalent of BASE jumping without a parachute. #TariffsAreTaxes

Sen. Mike "Tin Foil Hat" Fesi believes that nefarious actors can control the weather. He's also co-authored a bill that would ban water fluoridation: bit.ly/4iXorug

What's next? A bill to ban alien abductions within 300 yds of a school?

So embarrassing. #lalege

This is an resounding defeat for Jeff Landry's agenda!
A big win for Louisianans tonight! #lalege

Our parent organization - @cnliberalism.org - released a statement on the DOGE-initiated mass layoffs and urges Congress "to step up, reclaim their role in governance, and enact legislation that strengthens, rather than undermines, our public institutions."

If you hated inflation under Biden, you're really going to hate what's coming under Trump!

Add to these higher prices the 10% sales tax that Jeff Landry backed so he could give tax cuts to corporations and #Louisiana is in for a world of pain. #lalege #nola #thanksjeff

Suffering from cabin fever? Go take a walk to a local small business and treat yourself! They need the customers after being closed these past few days! #nola

If you're a New Orleanian without your own means of transportation, we hope you don't need groceries, have a doctor's appt, or have to show up for work, because our transit authority has no idea when they'll be up-and-running again.

RTA is broken. We deserve better. #nola

We hope everyone out there in New Orleans is safe and warm and partying like it's 1895.

It's awful that UNO is going to have to furlough hundreds of employees, but it's also unconscionable that the university has failed to collect millions of dollars that it's owed. Why are public agencies in this state so inept at managing their own affairs? www.nola.com/news/educati...

RTA should have fired Sundiata Haley years ago. A Lee Zurik investigation (bit.ly/404CnKK) raised questions about his behavior all the way back in 2012.

As time has gone on, it's become clear that the RTA is troubled and needs a total overhaul. www.nola.com/news/new-orl...

We are deeply saddened by this morning’s horrible attack on Bourbon Street. We are keeping the victims and their families in our thoughts and send our heartfelt thanks to the first responders who quickly acted to save lives.

"Change is what gets built, not how much money gets appropriated to build."

@nolacitycouncil.bsky.social members need to be reminded of this since they touted their recent support for the N.O. Housing Trust Fund (impact is questionable/TBD) while voting against 278 units of housing today.

Replacing the vacant wharves at the foot of Esplanade Avenue (which already sit behind a high floodwall) with a riverfront park is NOT going to create undue noise.

We need to eliminate unnecessary barriers to progress in this city. This is silly.

Shame on @nolacitycouncil.bsky.social for voting to block 278 units of new, much-needed housing on the West Bank.

Less housing = higher rents for New Orleanians.

Congress has the chance to require cities to report on their local policies that impact housing production, but we need to act quickly.

Please take a few minutes to click the link below to email your Representative & Senators in support of the YIMBY Act! bit.ly/4gAr3MW

#Louisiana is the 2nd worst state (behind Kentucky) in terms of its embrace of wind and solar energy.
December 13, 2024 at 9:13 PM
Congress has the opportunity to pass the bipartisan YIMBY Act during the current lame-duck session, but partisan squabbling is preventing the bill from being brought to a vote.

Join us in emailing your representatives to tell them to back the bill! bit.ly/4gAr3MW
