I solve problems
I keep a daily log in Obsidian (any note taking app works). Whenever I have a message that requires follow up, I either copy/paste or summarize it out as a “to do” note so I don’t lose track after Slack marks it read. I don’t use Slacks “save for later”, it doesn’t support prioritization.

I do. For one or two small items it doesn’t matter, for bulk work they help a lot because the handle doesn’t dig in badly like a right hand pair. Re: other tools, I avoid gel and rollerball pens because of smearing. Uni Jetstream pens dry really quick and are just as smooth.

My wife got scratched bad by one of ours when she accidentally rocked onto him on an outdoor rocking chair. They’re resilient to accidents, and your body will heal 😊

Can’t run PowerToys because of corporate IT restrictions? Create a PowerPoint presentation and set it to display in Windowed instead of Full Screen. Start the show, then minimize it to taskbar. Windows won’t go to sleep/lock when giving a presentation.

I love the Dalmore cigar malt! My partner and I bought a 750ml bottle last year for celebrating special events. It’s great because it doesn’t leave your mouth so dry, even if you aren’t a cigar aficionado.

Do what makes you happy today without worrying about perceived future obligations. Unless you’re signing a contract, future self owes nothing to others.

We’re cheating even worse, we’re ordering a premade this year

Agreed, and I feel that “owning it” usually applies to lower level managers as well. Thanks!

As a manager, how do you decide when to make clear that you aren’t the decider to help prevent pushback in the first place, and when to not be transparent?
