If we had a living wage and guaranteed healthcare, there wouldn’t be the need for unions, employees wouldn’t have to pay dues, and there will be some level of meritocracy among the workers so the laggards aren’t protected.

Have you compared the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles in income and wealth to where we were at a prior period? This will tell more about how we are doing as a whole. There will always be rich folk and a level of class resentment - but how are the people doing?

Agree but all corps should pay 20% or 25% with no loopholes. Any higher we lose competitiveness and corps move jobs or headquarters overseas. Then we need to tax personal incomes over $1 million at a much higher rate - maybe 50%.

The prior ICE budgets you are referring to have to do with normal border and airport customs operations.Raids were done when specific targets were known, agents had ID’s and werent masked, and due process was given. We need ICE; what we don’t need are race-based gestapo operations by a militia.

Cassidy has surpassed Jamarcus Russell as the biggest Louisiana waste of talent. He really could have done great bipartisan work on vaccines, infrastructure (which he did), and the rule of law. Could have been another McCain - now he’s just another sellout but worse because he knows better.

Everything on this is true except the S&L debacle, which members of both parties shoulder some of the blame. 4 of the Keating 5 were democrats. The deregulation that led to it was actually started in Carter admin though accelerated in Reagan years.
