For me its the low barrier of entry & time commitment.
I liken it to how at times I have analysis paralysis when choosing a movie due to the 2-3 hour time commitment/not being sure I’ll enjoy that time spent but can watch 4 episodes of a comfort show.

It wasn’t bad. It was fairly tense especially if you’re not a fan of the ocean/deep water but I felt it was missing that little something to make it great.
I personally rated The Monkey higher though it seems to be fairly divisive. I found it fun but it’s definitely far more comedy than horror.
